How I can know if I have Jewish ancestry in me?
What would it be able to tell? I have only 15 and I'm very interested in the history of my family and ancestors. Would it be possible to test my DNA to learn more about my ancestors? Because the main reason I learn about the ancestors of my family is if I'm still part Jewish. haha I know it sounds weird, but I am very interested and fascinated by the origins and history Jewish and finally thought it would be very surprising that even might be part Jewish, perhaps. My ancestors came from England, Ireland, Scotland and I know for sure. And I'm sure many countries around us are also mixed with me more than likely. How could I be able to know where my ancestors came from and whether it could possibly be Jewish?
Judaism is a religion nor a nationality. Therefore, Jews can come from all races on the planet. There was a time in England in 1290, when Jewish religion was banned and many Jews "converted" to change her last name Jewish Obviously, at the same time. The name of Moses, for example, may have been changed to Moss. Jews were readmitted in 1656, but at the time, knowledge extraction Jewish lost everything. This means that if you do not remember the family of Judaism may have to go back a long way to find written evidence. This involves working backwards, step by step, through birth records, marriage and death certificates and church records. What you can do with DNA is whether their ancestors made about 20,000, lived in what we now call the Middle East, I can say is that if I do not know how to Gt. grandparents worshiped in a synagogue or a church. If you find any clues that might indicate a link between the Jews (to say a name like Cohen or Levi) is not a Jewish Historical Society in London, you may be able to help and is a researcher dedicated access to the registry Jewish chief rabbi of the Registry. I lived on the margins of Jewish society for half a century, and I agree with you that are indeed a fascinating people.
