dna test south africa
My brother-in-law made a girl pregnant and is now refusing to accept responsibility – I feel that he should?

accept responsibility for what he has done and pay mainitenance but he is refusing to go for DNA tests to prove parenthood and his parents are supporting him in this choice. He lives in the UK and the baby and mom are in South Africa – I am a single mom who had to bring up two kids on my own and hate men who “hit and run” and it is causing friction between me and the in-laws. I know I should just shut my mouth and keep out of it, but I feel what he has done is wrong. And I wrong to feel like this???

No, you’re not wrong, there are too many blokes who are happy to impregnate a woman and then bugger off. (I’m not being sexist, statistically more men leave their families than women, ok?) Unfortunately, this is a problem that only he can deal with, and if he’s too much of a coward to stand up and take responsibility for his own actions, then there’s nothing anyone can do to “force” the issue. Is it worth causing friction between you and your in-laws over something you cannot influence or change? I know it’s hard but, in my opinion, you’d be better off just staying out of it as much as possible. I assume that the family know your feelings on this, so just leave it at that. His Karma will come back and kick him in the nuts at some point…
